Call for members to join the EASA Board of Appeal

Added at:

Dear Members and Industry Colleagues,

EASA has launched the following announcement which invites the individuals to join the Board of Appeal of EASA.

If you are interested you may submit your application via the link below.

On 11 March 2026, the Commission published a call for interested candidates to become a member of the Board of Appeal of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 (the EASA Basic Regulation) empowers EASA to issue certificates, register declarations, conduct investigation of undertakings, and levy the payment of applicable fees and charges. The Regulation also establishes a Board of Appeal which is responsible for deciding on appeals against decisions taken by the Agency regarding those matters. The Board of Appeal is also responsible for deciding on appeals against the individual decisions of the Agency concerning the EU Flight Emissions Label. While the Board of Appeal is part of EASA’s administrative structure, it takes its decisions independently.

The objective of this call for expression of interest is to select experts with the relevant competencies and experience who will be placed on a list of candidates for appointment by the EASA Management Board as Chairperson, members or alternate members of the Board of Appeal. The inclusion of a person on the Commission’s list of qualified candidates in itself does not imply the appointment of this person as member of the Board of Appeal.

Interested individuals are invited to submit their application to the Commission by 31 May 2026. The call can be accessed via this link:
