Our Hosts:         

Widerøe is the largest regional airline in Scandinavia, with a staff of 3,000 and a turnover of NOK 3.5 billion. The company carries around 2.8 million passengers annually and flies to 50 domestic and 8 international destinations.

In 2018 Widerøe was the launch customer for the brand-new Embraer 190-E2 aircraft. Widerøe is the first airline in the world to put the Embraer E190-E2 into commercial operations. Widerøes Flyveselskap AS was founded on February 19th, 1934 by five enthusiastic friends. Today the head office is located in Bodø, Norway.

Widerøe Aviation Academy, WAA

Widerøe Aviation Academy is Widerøes Flyveselskap’s section performing most parts of the training and we hold an EASA Part 147 Technical Training Approval, for Type Training.

The section consists of a total of 21 employees. The primary task of WAA is to provide classroom courses, e-learning and practical training in the Technical, Ground Handling and other Common courses.

In addition, the section is responsible for the company’s apprentices in aerospace, tourism, ICT and logistics. WAA is responsible for the recruitment of apprentices.

We have 8 classrooms in Bodø, one of them is virtual, one e-learning room, cabin simulator and flight training device, Dash 8 -300.

Mission:
WAA offers up-to-date, cost-effective training, tailored to customer needs, with high educational quality.

Vision:
WAA will, through its focus on continuous improvement of our products, be the preferred supplier of training, and thus contribute to growth in the Widerøe Group.
