The Air Navigation World (ANW) 2023 – Shaping the Skies of Tomorrow: Addressing Key Issues and Technologies in Air Navigation and Safety is to be held at ICAO Headquarters in Montréal, Canada, from 28 to 31 August 2023.

A key component of this event will be the discussions on the future technologies and procedures to support the evolution of the aviation system to meet the expectations of the aviation community.

Details on the event, including the draft programme, can be found at the following website:

ICAO Air Navigation World 2023 – Shaping the Skies of Tomorrow.

During this event, there will be a session on the use of head-mounted devices for the training using XR in aviation professions (mechanics/engineers, pilots, cabin crews, ATCOs). The purpose is to have a discussion on use cases of those tools to raise awareness of the audience, to identify potential barriers, and ultimately to assess if there is a need for a standard or guidance on the use of XR while training aviation professionals.

This session is foreseen to be held in the Assembly hall at ICAO HQ on 30 August 1600-1730. There are also opportunities to hold a booth during the event if organizations are interested to do so.

If anybody has already experience with the use of the mentioned equipment and would like to give a presentation in Montreal, please contact me per e-mail:  secretary@eamtc.org

Thank you and best regards,

Harald – EC Secretary
