Message from the Executive Committee

Dear members, colleagues and friends!

We hope our message finds you all in good health and good spirits.

During the last weeks, we all had to adjust to this new situation, which nobody was foreseeing of having such an impact on our working, as well as family life.

For us, as your Executive Committee, it was the first challenge to cancel our GA in Bodoe. In hindsight it was the right decision. Even tough, despite the early date, the Scandic Havet Hotel didn’t cooperate at all in the way of waiving cancellation fees for the rooms as well as for meeting facilities and catering provisions. The discussions between hotel, hosts and EC are still ongoing.

Our next EC meetings will be virtual via Skype or Webex. Nevertheless, we’ll keep you informed of the outcome through our website. The reports of the EC and the Working Groups normally presented at the GA, will be posted under 72nd GA – Virtual on the members page.

The EASA Working Groups for RMT.0255 and RMT.0544 are still active and having virtual meetings.

For the time being we still hope that the 73rd GA in Limerick will take place as planned in October. However, of course it depends on the travel restrictions as well as possible budgetary limitations for host as well as for all of us.

We will monitor the ongoing developments and keep you informed.

We are all aware of the challenges our industry is facing the next months with possible changes we have to live with for years to come. Especially in trying times like these, it is important to have a network within our industry, where we can act in unison for the same goal and work on a fast recovery.

Please do use our platform and our network if you need assistance for you training requirements. A number of members can provide online solutions or training materials at short notice. Let the team spirit work and put the completive thinking aside for the time being.

We are happy to assist you in finding the support you need.

Finally, we do wish you and your families to stay safe and healthy and are looking forward to meeting you all again in person during happier times.

With best regards,

Hans, Harald, Soren
